Bolbophorus damnificus

The digenean trematode parasite Bolbophorus damnificus infects commercial channel catfish Ictalurus punctatus, and causes lower feed consumption, reduced growth, and death. The parasite has a complex life cycle, and fish become infected by stages released from the marsh rams-horn snail, Planorbella trivolvis.
