Leeches (Hirudineans)

Leeches are ectoparasites of animals in moist or aquatic environments. Just like leeches that attach to and suck the blood of humans, some species of leeches attach to fish. Fish suffer directly from blood loss, and can get secondary infections from the bite injury caused by the leech.
